No matter what we look like or where we come from, all people deserve the right to breathe clean air, drink safe water, and live in healthy communities. We want to protect our loved ones from devastating climate disasters and safeguard the planet for future generations. We want a thriving green economy where good housing, food, renewable energy, and jobs are abundant.
We are living in a moment when we can no longer take these shared aspirations for granted. Decades of climate progress are being erased. The current administration is gutting investments in environmental protections, disaster relief, and climate solutions, meaning the climate crisis will get worse and affect more people.
It’s time to make a renewed commitment to bold climate solutions that benefit all living beings and Mother Earth. We believe that we can come together to create the positive climate tipping point we need. Climate solutions start with community. Despite the federal changes, communities at the front lines of the climate crisis continue to make change happen. Black, Indigenous and other communities of color have found creative strategies to counter corporate pollution and climate change for decades. They hold solutions that will benefit everybody.
Just as we’ve come together before to pass clean air laws, recognize tribal sovereignty, promote human rights, and adopt renewable energy, we must now stand together to protect and advance bold climate solutions that improve people’s lives. We represent the vast majority, who are concerned about the climate crisis: grassroots organizations, philanthropy, local and tribal governments, businesses, artists, sports and entertainment, places of worship, and more.
Together, we must fill the climate leadership and investment gap created by the new administration. We commit to stand with people and planet through strategies that include:
